Ogio Zinfandel Rosé (750ml)
The Zinfandel grape is also known as Primitivo in Italy and was first brought to Southern Italy by the Greeks. The wine was nurtured by the Benedictine monks in the 17th century and it has been growing in popularity ever since. Botter is a family owned company with 70 years of history as a negotiant and wine producer. They produce wines in all of Italy's major wine growing regions and are fully equipped with state of the art production and bottling facilities. Puglia spans Italy's long stiletto "heel" and rivals Sicily for being the largest producer of Italian wine. In fact, this 360 kilometre region produces almost twice as much wine as all of Australia. The must is left on the skins for 12 hours at controlled temperature to give the wine its pale rose colour. After soft pressing the must is left to ferment at a low temperature in stainless steel vats to retain the delicate red-fruit flavours.
